22 Oct 2009 Star Defense has been nominated for the Dutch Game Awards in the Mobile/Handheld category. The awards, presented during the Game in the City 2009 event, acknowledge the achievements of the Dutch game developers. The winners will be announced during the Dutch Game Awards dinner on November 12th. The 14 roughest cookies of our crew will be present at the dinner. We hope to meet you there!

21 Sep 2009 Star Defense has been nominated for the Control Industry Award. Part of the Dutch Game Awards to be held in November, Dutch game development magazine Control presents the Control Industry Award for the best Dutch game of the year. Rough Cookie in good company, as the other nominees include Guerilla's Killzone 2, Codeglue's Rocket Riot, Ronimo's Swords & Soldiers and numerous other outstanding Dutch games. The winner will be announced on November 12th.

14 Sep 2009 WaterWays, our watery action puzzle game published by TAITO, has been updated to version 1.2. This new release adds the often requested save and resume function and includes several other improvements. Best of all, WaterWays is $0.99 now! The free Lite version of the game has been updated too!

10 Sep 2009 We'll be closing the curtains, dimming the lights and eating cold pizza again for some time. Rough Cookie is working on a super-secret new project scheduled for release in Q2 2010.

4 Sep 2009 Star Defense 1.3.1 has swooped into the App Store. It marks the return of 2.2.1 compatibility to Star Defense. It also fixes some bugs AND it will allow Star Defense players to compete with SD Prelude players for the top spot on the Nova Cratos leaderboard.

4 Sep 2009 Star Defense Prelude has been released to the App Store and is available for free. This isn't just a lite version of Star Defense: it's a brand new, free planet. You'll be on the front lines of Outpost D-13 during the very first S'rath encounter. Prelude also offers Star Defense recruits a chance to test their mettle on the Nova Cratos challenge planet. For veterans, there are 10 new awards to unlock.

27 Jul 2009 Rough Cookie attends the Gamescom video game event in Cologne (Germany) and is available for meetings on August 19th to August 21nd. You can meet us at our booth in the Holland Pavilion located at F-031 / H-030 (hall 4.2). Please drop us a line if you'd like to meet up with us.

22 Jul 2009 Leading mobile and handheld gaming website PocketGamer.co.uk, reviewed Taito-published WaterWays. The website calls the game "a simple puzzle game made complex by some unusual controls and a bizarre objective." The reviewer concludes that "the visuals hold true to Rough Cookie's solid reputation." Kotaku also reviewed WaterWays: "Rough Cookie, the developers behind Star Defense, did a fantastic job of blending a cartoon look with a toy-like design." Kotaku concludes: "Waterways is as much fun to watch as it is to play."

6 Jul 2009 The latest update of Star Defense introduces Free Play mode for beaten planets, two more challenge planets, brand new commendations, a left-handed mode and a couple of miscellaneous tweaks and bug fixes.
