Company

Based in the Netherlands, Rough Cookie is focused on the design and development of premium quality games for high-end mobile platforms including Apple iPhone and Android.

Rough Cookie

Rough Cookie works with several key industry players. Its 2008 debut iPhone game Dougie Moo's Aqua Antics came out with Chillingo, while WaterWays was released by Japanse publisher Taito. Its major claim to fame however is iPhone title Star Defense, published by ngmoco:) and presented during Apple's WWDC 2009 keynote speech. Star Defense reached the US App Store top 10 of best selling iPhone games in the summer of 2009.

Not only does Rough Cookie work on its own exciting game productions, the company is also dedicated to co-development of game projects for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7. Examples include Taito's Space Invaders for iPhone (2009), the Touch Pets series by ngmoco (2009, 2010), Pulse: The Game (2010), a next-generation music game, developed in collaboration with Amsterdam-based Virtual Fairground and several other still unannounced game projects.

In 2009 the company received a Dutch Game Award for Star Defense and was listed among the top 50 iPhone developers of the year by PocketGamer.biz.

Rough Cookie is founded late 2008 as a joint venture between Dutch game veteran Khaeon and technical studio Elements Interactive.
